Optimum Leap LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Care Staff (DCS) to join our residential treatment team.

At Optimum Leap, we provide a safe, structured, nurturing, and home-like environment for boys ages 6–17 who may have intellectual/developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, emotional disorders, and trauma-related behavioral needs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Direct Care Staff member provides daily supervision, support, guidance, and care to residents while helping maintain a safe and therapeutic residential environment.

DCS staff serve as positive role models and assist residents with daily living skills, behavioral support, activities, school routines, personal hygiene, and other individualized needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide active and appropriate supervision of residents.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
  • Support residents with daily living activities, hygiene, laundry, meals, and room care.
  • Encourage positive behaviors and appropriate coping skills.
  • Use trauma-informed communication and approved de-escalation techniques.
  • Assist residents with school, homework, appointments, activities, and recreational opportunities.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents' behavior, mood, health, or safety.
  • Complete DAP notes, shift notes, incident reports, medication documentation, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow individualized treatment and behavioral support plans.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, case managers, clinicians, families, and other authorized professionals.
  • Follow all Optimum Leap policies and applicable Texas licensing requirements.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and behavioral crises according to training and facility procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED, as required by applicable regulations.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and screening.
  • Ability to complete required pre-service and ongoing training.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, emotional maturity, and sound judgment.
  • Commitment to the safety and well-being of children.
Preferred:

  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents.
  • Experience in residential treatment, group homes, behavioral health, foster care, or child welfare.
  • Experience working with individuals with IDD or ASD.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care or crisis intervention.
  • Experience working in a therapeutic or residential setting.

WORK SCHEDULE

Because Optimum Leap provides 24-hour residential care, employees may be scheduled for:

  • Day shifts
  • Evening shifts
  • Overnight shifts
  • Weekends
  • Holidays
Full-time and Part-time positions are available.

Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
